Live Action Anime Updates

All anime fans have dreamed of a live-action anime to be true to the anime of the same name.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but almost every adaption has been absolutely terribly received.

That being said, here are all the updates on the latest live-action animes released.

The official Twitter account announced that Netflix's Hollywood live-action adaptation of One Piece is set to air in 2023.

Netflix's official page for the series also shows a visual with the new cast members, new set, and the Going Merry ship.

Cowboy Bebop’ Creator Shinichirō Watanabe could not stomach one scene of Netflix’s live-action adaptation: "It was clearly not Cowboy Bebop."

As mentioned in the brief of this page's contents, anime fans dream of a live adaption that captures the very essence of the original manga/anime series. Despite the massive catalogue and credibility Netflix has, its live adaption of the 90's space western hit Cowboy Bebop, was nonother than a huge letdown.

Original Cowboy Bebop anime creator Shinichirō Watanabe admitted that he was in no shape or form a fan of the live-action adaption.

Netflix sent Watanabe a clip to review and give feedback on. This was inevitably the beginning of the end.

Watanabe recalled. ā€œFor the new Netflix live-action adaptation, they sent me a video to review and check." ā€œIt started with a scene in a casino, which made it very tough for me to continue.ā€

Season 1 Episode 1

ā€œI stopped there and so only saw that opening scene,ā€ he openly admitted.

ā€œIt was clearly not Cowboy Bebop and I realized at that point that if I wasn’t involved, it would not be Cowboy Bebop,ā€Ā he further added.

ā€œI felt that maybe I should have done this. Although the value of the original anime is somehow far higher now.ā€

So, Watanabe couldn’t bring himself to suffer through more than one scene of the streaming service’s live-action abomination.
